Dinosystem

DinoSystem is a 2D ecosystem and survival simulation that allows players to manage the ecology of an evolving island and survive in it as a human, dealing with realistic survival mechanics and a deep character progression system. This game provides an immersive experience with simple yet appealing graphics. In Dinosystem ambient sounds are crucial in drawing the player into its world. From the early hours of playing the game I developed a clear vision for the music. The two main characteristics of the tracks I composed are:

  • Space for ambient sounds: The music is minimal, allowing environmental sounds to blend seamlessly into the soundtrack. It’s simple and contemplative, enhancing the surrounding atmosphere.

  • A refined sound: The tracks combine synths and acoustic elements, creating surreal tones that reflect the paradox of humans and dinosaurs coexisting within a simulation.

The music doesn’t play continuously during gameplay but is designed for specific moments—such as a storm, a windy evening, or a peaceful afternoon. This approach was inspired by the emotional impact of games like Minecraft and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Like these games, Dinosystem uses music to subtly guide the player’s emotions. Instead of constant background music, I aimed to create pieces that celebrate the player's journey, enhancing the experience at key moments.

Teen Titans GO! Girls

This project was created in collaboration with Dinobros, an Italian company specializing in advergames for major Italian brands. The game was commissioned by Boing, a TV channel broadcasting popular animated series. Based on Teen Titans Go, the game is an isometric arcade with gameplay mechanics similar to the famous Vampire Survivors. It features four fast-paced stages where players must survive waves of enemies. Power-ups provide players with significant cumulative advantages to help defeat the hordes.

For the music, I was asked to draw inspiration from the original cartoon theme, so I created two chiptune tracks that enhance the fast-paced gameplay, staying true to the Teen Titans style. I chose chiptune elements to complement the art direction, but I also wanted to align with the fresh and modern look of the cartoon's music. As a result, I blended chiptune and synth elements to create something that felt fitting for the game.

Generali : Red day 2024

This gamification web app, developed by Dinobros was created for Generali, a well-known Italian insurance company. The interactive app engages participants with fun and informative activities. After logging in and selecting an avatar, players can join various events, accessible by entering a code obtained through physical or online participation in Redday 2024. The app’s core feature is climbing the rankings by answering event questions correctly. Each participation also supports the Libellula Foundation, which fights violence and gender inequality. In summary, this web app offers an engaging and educational experience while promoting a crucial cause.
For this game, I composed two tracks:

  • Quiz section: A soft, slightly tense piece designed to accompany the player while reflecting on the correct answer. I aimed to avoid being too attention-grabbing, allowing the player to focus.

  • Main app interface: For this section, I was asked to compose music similar to the kind heard in elevators. I decided to create a light, carefree bossa nova track

Hop Hop Gumball

Hop Hop Gumball is a simple vertical-scrolling platformer where the player must climb levels by jumping from platform to platform. It’s a lighthearted and playful game based on the popular animated series Gumball.
For this project, I was asked to draw inspiration from the cartoon's official theme song, while adapting the music to suit the style of a video game. In both tracks, I carefully balanced the essence of the original theme with the needs of a pixel art game. To meet the client’s request I used a mix of chiptune sounds, some synths, and acoustic elements like the banjo to capture the show’s musical vibe while ensuring it worked for the gaming experience.

Pirati all'attacco

Pirati all'attacco is a video game promoting Craig Before the Creek, the film based on the beloved animated series Craig of the Creek. It's a simple yet fast-paced 2D platformer where players must collect items while being chased by enemies. The challenge lies in the fact that the enemies relentlessly track every move the player makes, and their numbers grow with each collectible gathered. The game features four levels, each representing a specific scene from the film. For the music, I was tasked with adapting the film's original soundtrack to match the game's art direction. It was essential to ensure a strong visual and musical connection between the film's scenes and the game levels. I carefully listened to the film's score to create four tracks with a rock/chiptune vibe, capturing the energy and essence of the movie.

Trappole e Fantasmi

Trappole e Fantasmi is a 2D isometric game where players take on the roles of the characters from Teen Titans GO! In this Halloween-themed adventure, the player must navigate a perilous obstacle course to rescue the protagonist’s friends, who have been turned into ghosts. For this game, I was asked to create two tracks inspired by the show's original theme song. I crafted pieces with a dark yet playful mood, reimagined in a chiptune style to match the game's eerie and pixelated atmosphere.

This game was created for La Molisana, an Italian company known for producing some of the finest pasta available. It’s a platform run & gun where players step into the shoes of Spighetto, the official mascot of La Molisana. The game consists of four levels, where you’ll battle enemies and reach the finish line. The final level features a boss fight that turns into a small puzzle game. For the music, I was asked to draw inspiration from the first Rayman on PS1. As a big fan of the franchise, it was a joy to channel that energy. At the same time, I wanted to make the soundtrack unique and fit the playful, colorful vibe of the game. I also incorporated acoustic instruments, like the clarinet, to bring a more natural, handcrafted feel. This idea resonated particularly well with the client, as it reflects the artisanal quality and authenticity of their pasta production methods.
